My summer training has seemingly been filled with all sorts of annoying speed bumps, one after the other. The latest was getting my wisdom teeth out last Tuesday, which put a serious damper on last week’s mileage. I concentrated on just getting my legs back under me, so I didn’t get in a workout. All I did was some easy base mileage in hopes of getting ready for higher mileage for the next few weeks. I’ve had injuries and surgeries, but now I’m hoping to have two uninterrupted months of training before the marathon rolls around. I definitely want at least a few more weeks in the 70 mile range, as well as one more twenty miler. My goal still stands at sub 2:50. Stay tuned for more updates as we move toward the homestretch.
